Erling
Haaland scored a hat-trick as Man City beat Chelsea 4-2 in their pre-season
friendly in Ohio.
Two came in the opening five minutes - the first from the penalty spot. Levi
Colwill bought down Haaland inside the area and after needing to retake the
penalty, the Norwegian found the net.
Then, from the restart, a poor pass from Moises Caicedo to Tosin Adarabioyo
was cut out by Haaland, who then breezed through to score another.
Chelsea had a few first half chances to pull goals back. Christopher Nkunku
saw his effort saved by Stefan Ortega, before curling wide soon after.
After the break, Haaland and Oscar Bobb also scored within a minute of each
other to make it 4-0. Raheem Sterling's loose pass was intercepted by James
McAtee, who found Bobb. He cut in from the right before firing home his
hat-trick goal.
It will be a welcome sight for Man City fans, with a few question marks
lingering over Haaland's fitness. However, he appeared to be back to his
goalscoring self on Sunday.
McAtee nabbed his second assist of the game as he once again fed Haaland,
who made no mistake for his hat-trick goal.
But Sterling(59) and Noni Madueke (89) scored two consolations for Chelsea.
