Chelsea Condemn Morata Chant  (Sky Sports)

Alvaro MorataChelsea have issued a statement urging their supporters to stop singing an Alvaro Morata chant which contains anti-Semitic language aimed at their London rivals Tottenham.

Morata continued his excellent early-season form by scoring the opening goal in a 2-1 win over Leicester on Saturday afternoon - his third since joining Chelsea from Real Madrid in the summer.

However, the Spain international was the subject of a chant from the visiting Blues supporters which contains a derogatory reference to Tottenham.

Chelsea's director of communications Steve Atkins condemned the chant in a statement released following the win at the King Power Stadium.

"The club and the players appreciate the fans passionate support away from home, of course, but the language in that song is not acceptable at all I've spoken to Alvaro about it," said Atkins.

"Alvaro does not want to be connected with that particular song in any way and both the player and club request the supporters stop singing it with immediate effect."
