Wilkins Honoured By Chelsea  (Sky Sports)

Ray Wilkins MemorialRay Wilkins was honoured by former club Chelsea ahead of Sunday's game with West Ham at Stamford Bridge.

Fans placed shirts and scarves at a temporary memorial outside the ground and queued to sign a book of condolence in honour of Wilkins, who suffered a heart attack last week and passed away at St George's Hospital in Tooting on Wednesday morning aged 61.

Chelsea players did their warm-up wearing shirts bearing the number eight, the same number Wilkins wore when he played for the club.

The former midfielder, who also featured on the front of the match-day programme, was also remembered before kick-off with a minute's applause.

During a six-year spell with Chelsea, Wilkins played 179 games for the club, scoring 30 goals and handed the captaincy at the age of 18.

He also had stints with Manchester United, AC Milan, Paris-Saint Germain, QPR and Rangers.
