He
has won the Premier League young player of the year award after a stunning
season with Chelsea.
The 22-year-old has scored or assisted 32 goals this season, the joint-most
of any player in the Premier League, since his move to Stamford Bridge from
Man City last summer.
Palmer trails just City striker Erling Haaland in the Premier League goal
scoring charts with 22 goals in the top-flight so far this season.
He is also joint-second in the league for assists, setting up 10 goals,
three behind Aston Villa striker Olllie Watkins heading into the final day
of the season.
Palmer topped the shortlist of eight stars, including Arsenal duo Bukayo
Saka and William Saliba, Man City pair Erling Haaland and Phil Foden,
Destiny Udogie fromTottenham, Newcastle's Alexander Isak and Man Utd
midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.
Palmer is also in the running for the player of the season award and could
become just the second player to win both awards in the same campaign, after
Haaland did in 2022/23.
The player of the season will be announced at 11:00am on Saturday May 18.
