Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez wants to secure a Deadline Day move to
Chelsea, with agents ready to work until the final minute to get a deal
done.
Saul was part of Diego Simeone's title-winning side last season, but will be
allowed to leave the club this summer.
The 26-year-old has made more than 300 appearances for Atletico since
breaking into the first team as a 17-year-old in 2012.
The Spain international has previously been linked with a move to the
Premier League, with reports intensifying this summer that Manchester United
would rival Chelsea for his signature.
But, Chelsea appear to have a clear run at the 26-year-old on the final day
of the transfer window and Saul is very keen on a move to Stamford Bridge.
Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol told the Transfer Show: "The player
wants a move to Chelsea.
"The agents are doing this deal and are working hard to make sure it happens
before the deadline. They've said they will work very, very hard until the
last minute to get Niguez to Chelsea.
"It will be a loan with an option.
"The player is in Madrid, but he doesn't need to be in the UK. This deal can
be done while he's in Madrid."
