Reports
Roman Abramovich is willing to sell Chelsea for up to £3bn are inaccurate
and the club remains not for sale,
Sky Sports News has been told.
US media station
Bloomberg are reporting the Russian billionaire
owner has employed merchant bankers in the States to advise on the sale of
the west London club.
Abramovich has not been seen in London for several months since a series of
visa problems in May.
However, despite his absence and stories resurfacing of a potential sale,
sources at the west London club are adamant that nothing has changed and
have told SSN that the club is not for sale.
Sky Sports News reported back in June that Abramovich has no interest in
selling Chelsea.
At that point, the 51-year-old remained fully committed to Chelsea despite
the fact plans to redevelop Stamford Bridge had been put on hold.
Abramovich bought Chelsea for £140m in 2003 and they have won the Champions
League, the Europa League, five Premier League titles, five FA Cups, three
League Cups and two Community Shields since then.
