Batshuayi has agreed terms with Crystal Palace ahead of a potential loan
move from Chelsea, according to Sky sources.
The deal looks set to go down to the wire on Deadline Day, and comes after
Chelsea refused to deal with Tottenham over a potential loan deal for the
Belgium striker.
Batshuayi's representatives are understood to have offered the player to
Spurs following the collapse of a potential switch to Monaco earlier in the
window - and the player is keen on joining Mauricio Pochettino's squad.
However, the west London club do not want to loan the Belgian to a direct
rival for a top-four position, and there is a history of bad blood between
the clubs regarding transfers.
In 2005, Frank Arnesen left his role as sporting director at White Hart Lane
to move to Stamford Bridge, and then in 2013 Spurs were close to signing
Willian, only for Chelsea to usurp the deal at the last minute.
Chelsea have been looking for a new loan club for Batshuayi because his
spell at Valencia this season has not worked out.
West Ham and Real Betis had agreed terms on a new Batshuayi loan deal until
the summer with Chelsea, but the cost of the player's wages were thought to
have been a stumbling block.
