Cesar
Azpilicueta says the success of Chelsea's campaign will rest on the next
week and a half.
Chelsea crashed out of the FA Cup at home to Manchester United on Monday
night but can recover with a crucial week of fixtures ahead, the centrepiece
being the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City live on
Sky Sports
Football on Sunday.
"Hopefully we can have a good nine days. It's the whole season," Azpilicueta
told
Chelsea TV.
"We know that a trophy in the middle is everything, to bring the fans back
to Wembley with the spirit to get the Cup."
On Thursday, Chelsea take on Malmo in the second leg of their Europa League
last-32 tie and, three days after their Wembley showdown, they host
Tottenham at Stamford Bridge in their first Premier League game since a 6-0
hammering at City.
"We will be back at the Bridge against Malmo to finish the job we started
last Thursday, to get through to the next round," Azpilicueta added.
Chelsea lead the Swedish team 2-1 from the first leg and with the club sixth
in the Premier League, winning the Europa League could represent their best
chance of securing Champions League football for next season.
On the FA Cup defeat, Azpilicueta added: "We didn't put Manchester in
difficulties even at 2-0 down. We were not very good in the final metres, so
we paid (for) that. And at the end we couldn't score."
