Azpilicueta: First Step On Recovery  (Sky Sports)

Antonio Conte and Cesar AzpilicuetaCesar Azpilicueta believes Chelsea's comeback victory over Watford is their "first step" to reigniting their faltering start to the season.

Antonio Conte's side have struggled to rediscover their scintillating form from last season which saw the Blues become Premier League champions in the Italian's first campaign in charge.

Heading into the fixture against high-flying Watford, the Blues were without a victory in their previous three matches but they recovered from a 2-1 deficit to record a 4-2 victory against Marco Silva's side.

"We were three games without winning so it's important to step up and get back to winning ways," Azpilicueta, who scored Chelsea's third goal, told the club's website.

"We know it's a long season and we will have ups and downs. This has been a difficult period but this is the first step to get out and get our confidence up."

"It was good because I came on the pitch and did my job by scoring two goals, the three points is good for the team," he said. "I'm very happy, mostly for the three points in a difficult moment, and now we must focus on the next game."

Meanwhile, Michy Batshuayi also believes Chelsea must build upon the result as they seek to reduce the nine-point deficit to league leaders Manchester City.

The Belgian striker, who scored twice in the victory after coming on as a substitute also believes Conte's side can focus on their upcoming fixtures after their "difficult moment".

"It was good because I came on the pitch and did my job by scoring two goals, the three points is good for the team," he said.

"I'm very happy, mostly for the three points in a difficult moment, and now we must focus on the next game."

Chelsea will next meet struggling Everton in the Carabao Cup at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening with uncertainty surrounding Ronald Koeman's future at Goodison Park.
