Alonso: Chelsea Can't Lose Any More  (Sky Sports)

Marcos AlonsoChelsea cannot afford to lose any more Premier League games, according to defender Marcos Alonso.

The reigning Premier League champions have suffered back-to-back defeats in recent weeks and, as a result, sit nine points behind leaders Manchester City after eight games.

Injuries to Alvaro Morata and N'Golo Kante meant they missed the Blues' 1-0 defeat to bottom-of-the-table Crystal Palace on Saturday, and Alonso knows there must be no more slip-ups if they want to retain their title.

"We've lost a lot of points already and we cannot lose any more games," Alonso said.

"It's not easy to play always 100%, even more after the international break with lots of trips and hard training to get ready for the next games.

"We need to quickly change things, we've been working very well this week like I said, and tomorrow is a good chance to do anything good performance as we did in Madrid."

Chelsea host Serie A side Roma in the Champions League on Wednesday and the 26-year old wing-back insists the game is an opportunity for Conte's team to kickstart their campaign.

"I mean, we've got to try to win every game," he added.

"At Chelsea, we go out to the pitch to win every game - obviously it's going to be very hard.

"There are teams playing very good football and there are so many games still to come and I think we've got to think game-by-game and, for now, focus on the Champions League.

"It's a very important game tomorrow and then we will have time to get ready for Watford and for the Premier League."
