Luiz Dropped After Conte Row  (Sky Sports)

David LuizDavid Luiz is facing an uncertain future at Chelsea after being dropped from Sunday's squad following a row with manager Antonio Conte.

Luiz trained alone on Sunday morning at the club's Cobham train base as his teammates prepared for their 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

Conte made his frustrations clear to his squad on Thursday following their 3-0 defeat at Roma in the Champions League.

SSN understands the Italian boss was furious with Luiz for questioning the tactics deployed during Wednesday's lacklustre performance at the Stadio Olympico.

It is understood that on Saturday Conte took Luiz out of training after just 10 minutes, forcing him to watch the rest of the session from the sidelines, although this has been denied by the club.

The 30-year-old sat in the stands for the match alongside his Brazilian team-mate Kenedy, who was also left out by Conte.

The row with Luiz echoes the breakdown in relations Conte had with Luiz's teammate Diego Costa, now back at Atletico Madrid.

Luiz has started eight of Chelsea's 10 Premier League games this season and has scored twice in three Champions League appearances this year.

Conte insists there has been no falling-out with Luiz prior to dropping him but after the match could not confirm whether the Brazilian has a future at Stamford Bridge.

"He has to work really hard otherwise he is on the bench or in the stand," he said.

On Luiz's future, Conte added: "I don't know. Andreas Christensen is the present and the future for Chelsea."

SSN was told that Luiz would have been aware on Thursday that he was being rested for the weekend's game.

"David played a normal part in training, for a player who was not in the next match day squad," a Chelsea spokesman said.

"He was alternated in and out of training, which would be normal. He certainly wasn't pulled from training and forced to watch."

It is also understood the Chelsea players not on international duty will return to training on Wednesday ahead of their trip to West Brom on November 18.
