Ipswich
boss Paul Hurst has confirmed the club are close to signing Chelsea defender
Trevoh Chalobah on loan.
Hurst, who was announced as Mick McCarthy's successor at the end of May, was
speaking to the media on his side's first day back at training after the
summer break.
Chalobah is the younger brother of Watford's Nathaniel.
The 18-year-old defender is yet to make a first-team appearance for Chelsea
but was named on the bench for their FA Cup final win over Manchester United
in May.
A post on the club's official Twitter feed said: "Paul Hurst has confirmed
that Town are close to signing Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah on loan."
Ipswich have also confirmed that David McGoldrick has left the club after
five years at Portman Road.
The 30-year-old made 24 appearances for Ipswich last season, scoring eight
goals.
A club tweet said: "Paul Hurst has also confirmed that David McGoldrick has
left the club. We wish David all the very best for the future."
