Baker has signed a new five-year contract with Chelsea but will spend next
season on loan with Middlesbrough.
The 22-year-old has featured just once for the Blues' senior side, when he
made his first-team debut in an FA Cup tie against Derby in 2014.
The midfielder, who has been at Stamford Bridge since 2005, spent the past
two seasons on loan at Eredivisie side Vitesse Arnhem where he helped lead
the club to Dutch Cup glory last term.
Other loan spells saw Baker spend a month at Sheffield Wednesday at the
start of 2015 before joining MK Dons for the remainder of the season, in yet
another loan move.
Baker was part of the England U21 side that reached the final of this
summer's European Championships, where the team narrowly missed out on the
title when they were beaten on penalties by Germany.
He scored 15 goals in all competitions with Vitesse last campaign and is
another significant signing for Garry Monk's side, following striker Britt
Assombalonga's £15m move to the Riverside Stadium.
