There
is concern at Borussia Dortmund after on-loan Chelsea striker Michy
Batshuayi was stretchered off in Sunday's Bundesliga game against Schalke.
The 24-year-old has been taken to hospital amid fears he may have broken his
left ankle, according to reports in Germany, after Dortmund were beaten 2-0
in Gelsenkirchen.
Batshuayi was injured in a hard challenge by former Tottenham and Paris
Saint-Germain midfielder Benjamin Stambouli in stoppage time at the
Veltins-Arena.
Dortmund boss Peter Stoger said in his post-match press conference: "We hope
that it is not so bad, but we have to wait for the exact investigation."
Batshuayi has been a revelation at Dortmund after replacing Pierre-Emerick
Aubameyang, now with Arsenal, in the January transfer window on a loan deal
until the end of the season.
The Belgium international has scored nine goals in 13 appearances, as
Dortmund sit fourth in the Bundesliga table with four games of the season
remaining.
Batshuayi could not establish himself under Chelsea boss Antonio Conte,
despite scoring 11 goals from nine appearances off the substitutes bench
this term. He started only three times before his switch to Germany.
