The
agents involved in the deal to take Antonio Rudiger from Roma to Chelsea
arrived in London on Saturday to finalise the transfer,
Sky sources
understand.
The two clubs have already agreed a fee that could rise to £34m for the
24-year-old Germany international to move to Stamford Bridge and become only
the Blues' second signing of the summer.
Sky Sports News HQ understands discussions over personal terms are
at an advanced stage and that the deal is edging closer to completion.
Rudiger has spent the last two seasons in Serie A, joining Roma on loan at
the start of the 2015-16 season and then joining the club on a permanent
basis last summer for £7.6m.
He helped Roma finish second in Italy's top flight last season as they
secured qualification for the Champions League.
Rudiger would be the second addition to Antonio Conte's senior squad this
summer, following Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero.
The Blues have also added highly-rated Exeter City teenager Ethan Ampadu.
