Chelsea
players account for three of the seven nominees for October's Premier League
Player of the Month award.
Diego Costa, Eden Hazard and N'Golo Kante are up for the prize after helping
Chelsea win all four league games.
Costa and Hazard each scored three times, while Kante hit his first Blues
goal in a 4-0 win over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
Ilkay Gundogan's double in Manchester City's 4-0 win at West Brom helped
earn the Germany midfielder a nomination alongside goalkeeper Tom Heaton,
whose performance at Manchester United earned Burnley a point.
Stoke midfielder Joe Allen is on the seven-man shortlist after scoring three
goals during an unbeaten month from the Potters, and the list is completed
by Liverpool's in-form Philippe Coutinho.
Raheem Sterling and Heung-Min Son won the season's first two awards, which
are now decided by votes from a combination of Premier League experts,
current club captains and supporters.
