Alonso Backs Resolute Chelsea  (Sky Sports)

Marcos AlonsoChelsea defender Marcos Alonso believes the team will be difficult to beat if they continue their current performances under Antonio Conte.

The Blues remain at the top of the table after a 2-1 victory over Tottenham sealed a seventh straight Premier League win on Saturday.

Conte insists it is too soon to talk about winning the title, with the next test against Manchester City on Saturday, and left-back Alonso backed up his manager's beliefs.

"We've got to go game by game and we will see at the end of the season," Alonso said on Chelsea TV.

"But if we're still playing this way, with this passion, with this energy, it's going to be tough to beat us."

Tottenham's wait for a first league win at Stamford Bridge since February 1990 continues, but they took the lead on Saturday through Christian Eriksen before the home side rallied and secured all three points with a Victor Moses goal.

Pedro, who levelled the match just before the interval, believes the victory could be vital if Chelsea are going to achieve success this season.

"It was a very difficult game for us but we're really happy with the win and we want to continue in the right way," Pedro said. "We must take it game by game.

"I scored to help the team, which is good. Now we have great stability and high confidence, this was another important win.

"It was a good goal and in the second half the team were really strong. The second goal from Victor came from a beautiful combination and the team are in the right way."
