Chelsea
have opened negotiations over a new contract with goalkeeper Thibaut
Courtois, according to Sky sources.
The Belgium international has just over two years remaining on his current
contract and has attracted interest from Real Madrid.
Sky Sports News HQ understand Courtois, who has won two Premier
League titles since joining Chelsea in 2011, wants to remain at Stamford
Bridge.
A source told SSN HQ: "If Chelsea wants to be the best team, they need the
best players and Thibaut is the one.
"If Thibaut stays in London he deserves the best conditions at his level".
Courtois has featured 37 times for Chelsea in all competitions this season,
playing a vital role in Chelsea winning the title and reaching the FA Cup
final.
He was rested by head coach Antonio Conte for the 4-3 victory over Watford
on
Monday Night Football, and could once again be absent from the
squad for the final Premier League match of the season against Sunderland
with the FA Cup final in mind.
Chelsea take on Arsenal at Wembley on May 27.
