Gary Neville believes Chelsea's win at Everton will be looked back on as the final hurdle in their chase for the title.

Chelsea's comfortable victory over the Toffees on Super Sunday means Antonio Conte's side have taken a further step to securing the Premier League title and remain four points clear of Tottenham.

Chelsea have four games of their Premier League campaign remaining, with Middlesbrough coming up next on May 8 on Monday Night Football before they take on West Brom, Watford and already-relegated Sunderland.

And Neville insists Chelsea will be difficult to stop now.

"There are always big moments in the season but when we look back, I think Chelsea's win at Everton will be regarded as the final hurdle," he said on the Gary Neville Podcast.

"I know they've got to get over the line but just look at the fixtures they have.

"The game didn't materialise as I thought it would. I've played and worked at Goodison Park and seen a hostile atmosphere develop to where it could become quite intense.

"Frank Lampard mentioned the word 'emotion' in these types of games at Goodison Park, but it was a flat day. The performance of Everton never really connected with their fans, which suited Chelsea to play at a slower pace. The game drifted apart from the first 10 minutes. But Pedro's goal changed the game. Chelsea controlled it from there.

"You could see from the celebrations from the Chelsea staff and players how big of a result that was."

Chelsea's thumping victory could have dampened enthusiasm at White Hart Lane but Mauricio Pochettino's men maintained their focus and registered a 2-0 victory over Arsenal.

Although Neville thinks Tottenham have now missed their chance to pressurise Chelsea, the future looks bright for Pochettino's young side.

"I felt if something was going to happen for Tottenham, it was going to be on Sunday," Neville added.

"That was the day where we could have had a swing, but there wasn't. Credit to Tottenham, they did their job, but it could have been a real banana skin for Chelsea.

"I've never in my lifetime even considered Tottenham as potential champions - so what Pochettino has done is staggering. The team is growing and getting more experienced."
