Kante says Chelsea have a "champion" squad, but will not take their foot off
the pedal in the Premier League title race.
The Blues are in a commanding position at the top of the table, with a
10-point lead over nearest challengers Tottenham, although that advantage
could be cut by the time they travel to West Ham on
Monday Night
Football.
But whether it is or not, Kante, who joined Chelsea after winning the league
last season with Leicester, insists there will be no let up from Antonio
Conte's side.
"I am happy we are playing well, but nothing is done yet, so we can't talk
about achievement," he told Soccer Saturday at the Willow Foundation's
London Football Awards.
"We have a champion squad, everyone has won something, but we know nothing
is done until we win."
Kante was named Player of the Year at the awards, reflecting his impressive
start to life at Stamford Bridge.
"It's a great honour to get the award and I want to thank my team-mates
because without them I would not be here today," he said.
The France international also praised head coach Conte, saying: "The manager
is a hard worker. He knows what he wants from everything and can repeat
training two, three, four times if we are not doing it. I think that's why
we are playing well."
Conte echoed Kante's comments that Chelsea have the experience to deal with
the run-in, with the Blues losing just once in the Premier League since
September.
"I have players that in their careers won a lot and have the right
experiences to fight for this type of situation," Conte said. "The pressure
will be very high from now until the end but we must live with this and we
have good experience to face the situation."
