Chelsea
striker Diego Costa has hinted he would be receptive to a move to French
football in the future.
Costa admitted he tried to push through a move to former club Atletico
Madrid in the summer, after a frustrating 2015/16 season in which the
Premier League champions finished 10th in the defence of their title.
The Spain international confirmed he told incoming head coach Antonio Conte
on his first day in the job that he wanted to return to La Liga, but the
transfer did not materialise.
In the January transfer window, Sky sources understood Costa was the subject
of a £30m-a-year offer from Chinese clubs, who were willing to pay Chelsea
up to £80m to sign the striker.
There is nothing to suggest Chelsea are going to part company with Costa,
but the 28-year-old praised Ligue 1 to French broadcaster Telefoot this
week.
"Marseille have constructed a nice project and PSG, we know, are respected
in Europe," he said.
"Monaco also have a wonderful project and have some great players. Ligue 1
is developing.
"I am very happy at Chelsea but anything can happen in football. If I need
to make a change, France is a country where I have never played. So why
not?"
