United are closing in on the season-long loan signing of Chelsea striker
Tammy Abraham, according to Sky sources.
A deal for the 19-year-old, who spent last season at Bristol City in the Sky
Bet Championship, is expected to be completed in the next few days.
Chelsea have been keen for assurances that Abraham will feature regularly
for his next loan club, with Brighton also understood to have been
interested in his services for next season.
But Abraham is set to become Rafa Benitez's second signing of the summer
after the permanent capture of Christian Atsu for £6.2m, also from Chelsea,
following his successful season-long loan at the Championship winners last
term.
Abraham - an England U21 striker - scored 26 goals on loan at Bristol City
last season.
He has never started a match for Chelsea, making just two senior appearances
as sub in the Premier League.
Sky sources understand Brighton remain interested in Fraizer Campbell, who
is available on a free transfer from Crystal Palace next month.
