Chelsea
forward Eden Hazard has suffered a fractured ankle while on international
duty with Belgium.
Hazard incurred the injury in training at the National Football Centre in
Tubize on Sunday and was ruled out their friendly against the Czech Republic
on Monday and the World Cup Qualifier in Estonia on June 9.
A subsequent scan revealed the problem to be more serious than was first
realised and Hazard could now be out for up to eight weeks, a timescale that
would affect his pre-season preparations with Chelsea.
Belgium are top of World Cup Qualifying Group H, two points ahead of Greece,
after winning four and drawing one of their five matches but they must now
do without their talismanic playmaker.
