Bromwich Albion want to hijack Branislav Ivanovic's move to Zenit St
Petersburg, according to Sky sources.
Baggies boss Tony Pulis was in the crowd at Stamford Bridge on Saturday to
see Ivanovic come off the bench to score in Chelsea's 4-0 FA Cup victory
over Brentford.
Sky sources understand Chelsea are prepared their long-serving Serbian
defender to leave on a free transfer.
He is already in advanced negotiations over the terms of a possible contract
with Zenit.
But Albion's approach could change Ivanovic's mind, because it is thought he
is keen to stay in England if possible.
Whether it is Russia or the Midlands, it looks increasingly likely that
Ivanovic has played his last game for Chelsea after nine years at the club
which have seen him win every domestic honour and the Champions League.
