Middlesbrough
have completed the permanent signing of Patrick Bamford from Chelsea.
The striker, who spent the 2014-15 season on loan at the Riverside, has
signed a four-and-a-half-year deal after Chelsea accepted an undisclosed
offer.
Bamford enjoyed the most successful spell of his career to date at Boro,
scoring 19 goals and earning a place in the Championship team of the Year as
the club reached a Wembley play-off final.
The 23-year-old joined six different clubs on loan during his time at
Stamford Bridge, most recently making six substitute appearances for Burnley
in this season's Premier League.
He leaves Chelsea without a single appearance for the senior side and is
Aitor Karanka's second January signing following the arrival of Rudy
Gestede.
