Conte has revealed he was "scared" for David Luiz in the wake of Sergio
Aguero's horror tackle on the Chelsea defender last Saturday.
Conte was involved in a touchline melee after the tackle in injury time of
the Blues' 3-1 win at the Etihad Stadium, which saw the Manchester City
striker sent off and banned for four games.
Luiz brushed off the Aguero tackle, a nasty knee-high lunge, afterwards and
said it was a "normal frustration" but Conte is still simmering over it,
with the Brazilian doubtful for Sunday's Premier League clash with West
Brom.
"I have to check if David Luiz is able to play on Sunday because this tackle
was very bad," said Conte.
"And I have to check on his recovery from his injury. It will be very
important for him and for me on Saturday to decide whether he can play on
Sunday.
"That tackle was dangerous, for sure. I watched the images and I was afraid
(he might be injured). I was scared.
"He's trying to recover from this tackle. It was only after I saw the
replays, that's when I saw this was very dangerous for David Luiz."
