As
we preview the new Premier League season, we pick out five questions for
Chelsea.
What have they done in the transfer market?
Chelsea have added two new players since Antonio Conte's appointment, with
Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi arriving from Marseille for £33.2m and
midfielder N'Golo Kante joining from Premier League champions Leicester for
£32m.
A host of players have left Stamford Bridge on loan, the most recent being
Baba Rahman, and there are expected to be more ins and outs before the
deadline. The Blues have been linked with a big-money move for Everton's
Romelu Lukaku, which would cast doubt on Diego Costa's future at Stamford
Bridge.
What does the manager say?
"The transfer market is not the most important thing. The important thing is
to build a team - a team that plays in good and bad situations and
concentrates and works together."
What's the pundit verdict?
If Eden Hazard turns up this season he's one of the best players in world
football and they only play once a week, which is a massive advantage.
Paul Merson
"I've gone for Chelsea to win the Premier League. I like the manager Antonio
Conte - although I agree with him that this is the hardest Premier League
season ever. If Eden Hazard turns up this season he's one of the best
players in world football and they only play once a week, which is a massive
advantage." - Paul Merson
