Burnley
manager Sean Dyche has revealed the Clarets are close to completing the loan
signing of Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford.
Dyche is keen to boost his squad at Turf Moor and is hopeful there will be a
number of new arrivals before the transfer window closes on Wednesday
evening.
England U21 international Bamford looks like being the first new face
through the door with Dyche confirming the news at his press conference
following Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
He said: "Patrick is close. It's just a few is getting dotted and ts getting
crossed.
"There are a number of other things closer too, but we still have to get
them over the line, so we'll wait and see."
Bamford, 22, is yet to make a first-team appearance for Chelsea after
joining them from Nottingham Forest in January 2012.
The Blues sent him out on loan to fellow Premier League clubs Crystal Palace
and Norwich City last season although he struggled to secure a starting spot
with both clubs.
He has also had previous loan spells with MK Dons (twice), Middlesbrough and
Derby County.
