Conte insists he holds no influence over John Terry's international future
amid talk of an England recall for the Chelsea captain.
Terry has not featured for his country since retiring from international
duty in 2012 but new England boss Sam Allardyce has not closed his mind to
the possibility of selecting the 35-year-old.
Allardyce is preparing to name his squad for the World Cup qualifier in
Slovakia on September 4 and has indicated that he may speak to Terry, and
Conte says the matter remains solely between the two Englishmen.
"I'm a former international team coach so I know this situation and prefer
it to be solved between Sam Allardyce and John Terry. That's the right way,"
former Italy boss Conte said.
"John Terry has a great attitude during training and is working very hard.
I'm very happy with his commitment. But for the international team, it is
very important for it to be solved between Sam Allardyce and John Terry."
The Chelsea captain retired from international football in September 2012,
four days before he was suspended for four matches by the Football
Association for misconduct following an incident during a match against
Queens Park Rangers.
He won the last of his 78 caps in England's 5-0 win over Moldova, and was
not considered for the national side during Roy Hodgson's time in charge.
