Chelsea
are set to sign Portugal goalkeeper Eduardo from Dinamo Zagreb.
The 33-year-old was part of the squad that won Euro 2016 this summer but did
not play a game, deputising instead for Rui Patricio.
Chelsea already have two senior goalkeepers, Thibault Coutois and Asmir
Begovic, competing for a first-team place but Begovic has been the subject
of reported interest from other clubs, including Everton.
Zagreb's manager Zlatko Kranjcar was asked on Sunday whether this week's
Champions League play-off second leg against Red Bull Salzburg will be
Eduardo's last game for the club, and he said: "Yes, I think so.
"Eduardo has been given an amazing opportunity to leave for a big club like
Chelsea.
"When he arrived we gained security in our team, and in my time in the club
he has defended his goal very well. But the situation is that he is leaving.
May he have all the good luck in a big club."
Chelsea opted not to re-sign Marco Amelia this summer while youngster Jamal
Blackman joined League Two side Wycombe Wanderers on loan last week.
