Cesc
Fabregas is fully focused on playing for Chelsea and working under new head
coach Antonio Conte, according to Sky sources.
The midfielder was left on the substitutes' bench for the entirety of
Chelsea's 2-1 opening day victory over London rivals West Ham at Stamford
Bridge on
Monday Night Football.
On Tuesday, reports in the national press linked Fabregas with a move away
from Chelsea with Real Madrid, Juventus and former club Barcelona mooted as
potential suitors.
But following the win over the Hammers, Conte insisted Fabregas had a future
at Chelsea and Sky sources understand the 29-year-old is keen to prove his
worth under the Italian.
Conte said: "Cesc is Chelsea's player, and I'm happy about him, with his
attitude and behaviour.
"He must know from before that when we are a great team like Chelsea it can
happen that I have to take a decision before the game to choose a starting
XI.
"That can happen that Fabregas is not in the starting XI, but it can happen
for all the players. It's important to see always the right attitude.
Because we must fight this season and it's important to stay together in
every situation."
Fabregas, who joined Chelsea from Barcelona for £30m in 2014, helped Chelsea
win the Premier League title and the Capital One Cup during his debut season
at the club.
He could make his first appearance of the 2016/17 campaign on Saturday as
Chelsea travel to Vicarage Road to face Watford.
