Chelsea
and Crystal Palace are likely to face FA scrutiny after flares were set off
during their Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge.
Four loud bangs were heard coming from the area known as 'the Shed End',
which houses away fans, with smoke bombs and at least one flare visible on
Saturday.
Two people were arrested in the visiting section of the ground for allegedly
setting off the first pyrotechnic, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed.
A third was arrested for allegedly assaulting a steward who was attempting
to deal with the incident.
Two further arrests were made for possession of class A drugs.
Further individuals were barred from entry to the ground for possession of
pyrotechnics.
Crystal Palace won the game 2-1, cutting Chelsea's lead over second-placed
Tottenham to seven points with nine games left, and boosting their Premier
League safety hopes.
