Cahill Ready For Arsenal Clash  (Sky Sports)

Gary CahillGary Cahill says Chelsea will go into their Premier League match against Arsenal on Saturday with renewed optimism after their 4-0 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Cahill, who captained the Blues for the first time in a competitive match in Wednesday's Champions League clash as John Terry missed out again, hopes the win will give the Premier League champions a bit of a morale boost as they search for only their second league victory of the season.

Arsenal suffered a 2-1 midweek defeat at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb, who had not won in the Champions League since 1999, and Cahill said Chelsea's success should give them an advantage over the Gunners.

"It will be of use because we'll go into training in better spirits than we have been off the back of a win," the England international told his club's official website.

Chelsea are currently languishing on the brink of the bottom three after their worst start to a Premier League season, while Arsenal sit fourth.

Jose Mourinho's side also have the worst defensive record in the league so far, with 12 goals conceded in five games, but Cahill says the team will be looking forward to taking on the Gunners.

The only thing that turns [a bad run] around is winning games and we have another chance to do that on Saturday.

"I'm not going to say it's going to have an absolutely massive impact on the weekend, but in terms of the feelgood factor around us it certainly will.

"We have huge players in our dressing room who have done loads and loads in the game, but it is just normal that when you go on a bad run or lose games you maybe get a dip in confidence. That's just natural.

"The only thing that turns it around is winning games and we have another chance to do that on Saturday."
