Chelsea
interim boss Guus Hiddink says he is "satisfied" with how the team have
performed since he took temporary charge.
But the experienced Dutch coach admits that he is disappointed not to have
taken the Blues further in the Champions League and the FA Cup.
Hiddink's first stint as a caretaker at Stamford Bridge was a spectacular
success in 2008/09, featuring just one defeat and victory in the FA Cup.
He took over on an interim basis again in December, with the reigning
champions struggling towards the foot of the table after a disastrous start
to the campaign under Jose Mourinho.
Hiddink again masterminded a lengthy unbeaten run and has lifted Chelsea
into the top half of the table, ahead of the visit of title-chasing
Tottenham on Monday night, live on Sky Sports 1 HD from 7pm.
But, on the other hand, Chelsea have only managed one Premier League home
win since Hiddink was installed, went out of the Champions League at the
last-16 stage and lost an FA Cup quarter final at Everton.
Asked to mark his tenure out of 10, Hiddink said: "It's difficult to give a
figure.
"I'm happy the team reacted when we were in a desperate situation, when
people in this house started sweating, because there are experiences in the
past where big clubs can go down as well.
"I came here in difficult circumstances. I had to restore the confidence and
more in this team and club.
"From there on, I'm satisfied with the reaction of the team.
"But I'm not easily happy about myself.
"I would've loved to have gone into the next round of Champions League and
the FA Cup final - if that had happened I would give myself a 10 plus."
Chelsea will have influence at both ends of the table over the closing weeks
as they could hand Leicester the title if they beat Spurs on Monday and then
have games against Sunderland, Liverpool and Leicester themselves.
And Hiddink says the squad have been informed that a below-par end to the
campaign will not be well received.
"We've had meetings about that," he said. "They must finish it in an
honourable way."
