Juventus
chief executive Giuseppe Marotta insists Juan Cuadrado will not go back to
Chelsea in the summer.
Juventus are hoping to sign the Colombian winger on a permanent transfer
after several impressive performances on loan for the Serie A leaders.
Former Juventus manager and current Italy head coach Antonio Conte will not
stay with the national side after the European Championship and it has been
reported by Sky in Italy that Conte will take over at Stamford Bridge ahead
of next season.
Marotta feels Conte's move from the Italy job to Chelsea underlines what a
strong appointment he was when Juventus brought him in from Siena in 2011,
but says his arrival in west London will not influence the Cuadrado
situation.
"The fact Antonio Conte is going to Chelsea just confirms that we made a
good choice when we took him from Siena," he said. "I am proud of this and
for him.
"But as for Cuadrado? I don't think Conte will influence our decision. We
could keep him here."
In January, Marotta confirmed Juventus' intentions to keep Cuadrado this
summer, saying: "He is on loan but for the squad and his tactical
flexibility we really need him. He plays in a different way compared to all
our other midfielders.
"Cuadrado could help us a lot and we are happy about his performances. We
will try to hold on to him for the next campaign."
Chelsea bought the winger from Fiorentina for £26.1m in last season's winter
transfer window but he started just four games before being loaned to
Juventus in August.
