Hazard 'Playing Through Injury'  (Sky Sports)

Eden HazardEden Hazard's father says there is no chance that his son will leave Chelsea this summer, but claimed the club are forcing the winger to play through an injury.

Hazard has faced criticism from some sections of Chelsea's support following a number of lacklustre displays this season.

The 25 year-old, who was last year's Premier League player of the year, is yet to score a league goal this season and was booed off when substituted against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Fans appeared unhappy with Hazard's decision to swap shirts at half-time with PSG's Angel Di Maria.

The Belgium international was withdrawn midway through the second half of Chelsea's 2-1 defeat after signalling to the bench that he had a hip problem.

And Thierry Hazard claims that his son's poor form is partly due to poor injury management by Chelsea.

"Eden's lack of form is due to an injury, an inflammation in the hip that he's been carrying now for three or four months," said Hazard's father in an interview with Belgian newspaper Le Soir.

"It's not a bad injury, but when the pain appears, it feels like a stabbing. It's feels like a knife is stabbed in it.

"He was feeling the pain early in the game (against Leicester) and that's why he has asked for a substitution. Instead of giving Eden a time to overcome the injury and have a proper rest, they push him to play because they have some important games. So he has no choice.

"Which player hasn't had highs of lows in his career? It's the first time in his professional career that he's confronted with a difficult period. He's not machine, as we know."

Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink confirmed on Friday that Hazard was indeed struggling with an injury, but said the forward would be available for selection for the Blues' FA Cup quarter-final at Everton on Sunday.

"His father made a fair judgement. He is not absent of injury," the Dutchman said.

"What is an injury? You can have an injury where you cannot play, or where you can play when you are not fully fit.

"I have my concerns about him as well: whether he should play, when he's not top, top fit, an hour at full intensity or another part of the game (as a substitute). We're trying to help him.

"He will be available (against Everton). He's desperate to participate in a team performance."

Hiddink also defended Hazard over the decision to swap shirts with Di Maria at half-time.

"In some countries more south it is a habit to do so," he said.

"It is for pragmatic reasons also they don't want to go half nude on the pitch after the game."

The incident at half-time will on fuel speculation surrounding Hazard's club future. The former Lille winger, who has made 62 appearances for Belgium, has been heavily linked with a move to Di Maria's PSG this summer.

Hazard recently said it would "be difficult to say no" to the Ligue One champions, should they make an approach.

However, Thierry Hazard claims that his son is happy at Stamford Bridge and expects him to see out his contract, which due to expire in 2020.

"Eden has never said he wanted to play for PSG," he said.

"He's just confirmed that PSG have become a big club and that every player would like to play for clubs of that level. Eden has a contract until 2020. It's out of question that he'll leave the club at the moment."
