Chelsea
have been cleared of any wrongdoing over Mohamed Salah's loan to Roma
following a complaint from Fiorentina.
The winger played for the Florence side for the second half of the 2014/15
season having only made 10 starts in the previous year at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea then agreed a deal for the Egyptian to join Roma temporarily for the
duration of the following campaign and that drew Fiorentina's complaint to
FIFA.
They alleged breach of contract but the decision was understood to have been
made by the player himself and the complaint was dismissed.
A FIFA spokesperson said: "The dispute resolution chamber (DRC) dealt with
the dispute opposing the Italian club, ACF Fiorentina, to the player,
Mohamed Salah Ghaly, and the English club, Chelsea FC.
"The findings of the relevant decision, without grounds, have been
communicated to the parties on June 8, 2016.
"The claim of the Italian club was rejected. Since the decision is not yet
final and binding, we are not in a position to comment on it any further."
Salah joined Chelsea from Swiss side Basel in January 2014 and scored twice
in his first six games but he featured fleetingly.
Now 23, he has built on a good spell with Fiorentina over the last 12
months, scoring 14 goals in 34 Serie A appearances for Roma who finished
third behind Juventus and Napoli.
That is likely to have caught the attention of Chelsea's new manager,
Antonio Conte, who remains in charge of the Italian national side for the
duration of Euro 2016.
Salah and the remainder of the Chelsea squad will be assessed by Conte when
the Italian arrives in London next month to take up his new position.
