Milan are ready to make a bid for Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah, once the
player's status is clarified.
Salah spent the second half of the 2014-15 campaign on loan with Fiorentina
and had until the end of the season to tell the Florence outfit he did not
want to extend his stay.
Fiorentina insist Salah has to play next season with them on loan from
Chelsea after they activated a clause in his contract last month and the
Italians have confirmed that they are considering taking legal action as
Salah's camp are unwilling to play ball.
After reported interest from Inter in the player, Salah announced he would
not return to the Tuscan outfit and Fiorentina accused Inter of unsettling
the 23-year-old.
"The criticisms we have received from Florence have been excessive and
unjustified," Inter general director Marco Fassone said to Turin-based
sports newspaper Tuttosport.
"We are waiting to understand what the situation is, because for the time
being, it seems that it is not clear who Salah's sporting rights belong to.
"Should he free himself, the Egyptian could be a target of ours."
Salah was a big hit in Italy, scoring seven goals in 12 appearances to help
Fiorentina finish fourth in Serie A this past season.
Chelsea signed Salah in January 2014 on a five-and-a-half-year contract from
Basle - but he has not found a place in Jose Mourinho's plans, making just
six Premier League starts and 19 appearances overall.
