Juventus
are hoping to keep on-loan Chelsea winger Juan Cuadrado, according to the
Italian side's sporting director Giuseppe Marotta.
The Colombian arrived at Stamford Bridge in a £26m move from Fiorentina in
February last year having impressed following his move there from Udinese in
2012.
But while he featured in 15 matches under former manager Jose Mourinho, he
started just four Premier League games in the second half of the campaign.
Having struggled to settle in London, Cuadrado was sent on loan to Juventus
for the whole of this season and has so far played 16 times in Serie A,
scoring against Torino and old side Fiorentina.
Cuadrado also played 89 minutes of Juventus' 3-0 Coppa Italia semi-final
first leg win over Inter on Wednesday and has made 27 appearances in all
competitions for the club.
He is due back in London this summer but now Marotta has revealed Juventus
hope to keep him in Turin beyond the end of his temporary deal.
"He is on loan but for the squad and his tactical flexibility we really need
him," said Marotta. "He plays in a different way compared to all our other
midfielders.
"Cuadrado could help us a lot and we are happy about his performances. We
will try to hold on to him for the next campaign."
