Willian Confident Ahead Of PSG  (Sky Sports)

WillianWillian says Chelsea are brimming with confidence for their Champions League last-16 tie against Paris Saint Germain after thrashing Newcastle.

The Blues lost their way early in the season but interim boss Guus Hiddink has restored stability at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea 12 matches unbeaten since Jose Mourinho was sacked on December 17.

The only concern after the demolition of Newcastle on Saturday Night Football was a muscular injury sustained by John Terry but irrespective of the skipper's availability, Chelsea are in good spirits ahead of Tuesday's first leg in Paris.

"We killed them in 20 minutes and then it was more and more easy to play," Willian told Chelsea TV.

"Now we have more confidence to go there and to play. Paris have a great team, great players, but we go there to try to win the game."

Diego Costa opened the scoring inside five minutes against Newcastle - netting his seventh goal in his last eight Premier League games - to begin Saturday's rout.

Willian added: "Diego is a great player. We have no doubts about him, about his quality. He's scored so many goals.

"I gave one assist for him, he gave one to me. I enjoy a lot playing with him."

Costa took to the field played in a protective face mask after breaking his nose in training on Thursday but Hiddink said the striker had been determined to lead the attack against the Magpies.

The Dutchman added: "He's sharp. He wanted to play desperately."
