Milan coach Stefano Eranio says his club will not mistreat striker Fernando
Torres in the same way that he claims Chelsea did.
Eranio, who played for Milan and Derby County, reckons the Spanish striker
is like a quality car that has to be treated well in order for it to run
correctly.
Torres joined Milan on a two-year loan deal from Chelsea last month but is
unlikely to return to Stamford Bridge where he struggled to earn a place in
Jose Mourinho's first-choice team.
The 30-year-old played 110 times for Chelsea but only scored 20 goals after
joining from Liverpool in a £50million deal in 2011.
"Torres is a very humble player, he has great technical and human
qualities," Eranio told Milan News.
"In recent years he has not been in contention much and has spent a long
time on the Chelsea bench.
"But he is like a car, he needs to play to find his form. He needs the
confidence of the coach and to make the most of his surroundings.
"As a coach, I say that I would always want someone like Torres in the team.
He arrives in Italy with great enthusiasm, and has specific characteristics
that would suit Milan perfectly."
