Swansea
boss Garry Monk is among the nominees for the Barclays Premier League
Manager of the Month award for August.
Monk has led his side to joint top of the fledging table with three wins
from three, including an opening-day success over Manchester United at Old
Trafford.
Jose Mourinho, whose Chelsea team lead the way by virtue of a better goal
difference, is also nominated alongside Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert, who
has two wins and a draw from the first three matches of the campaign.
Stoke's victory at champions Manchester City has earned Mark Hughes the
final spot on the four-man shortlist.
The Player of the Month category includes Chelsea striker Diego Costa, who
has scored in each of his side's league matches since joining in the summer
from Atletico Madrid, and team-mate Cesc Fabregas, a stand-out for the Blues
following his move from Barcelona.
Swansea's Nathan Dyer makes the shortlist after scoring three goals in his
side's rise to the summit while team-mate Gylfi Sigurdsson has also earned a
nomination following a strong start to the season.
The final contender is Aston Villa's Andreas Weimann, who scored the winning
goals against both Stoke and Hull City.
