Cech will have his Arsenal medical today ahead of his move from Chelsea,
according to Sky sources.
Arsenal have agreed a £10.9m fee for the Czech Republic international
goalkeeper and it is understood he has already agreed personal terms in
principle with the Gunners.
Sky Sports understands the player's medical was originally
scheduled for next week but has been brought forward to Friday.
The 33-year-old, who has one year left on his contract at Stamford Bridge,
has been keen to leave the club having spent most of last season as second
choice to Belgium keeper Thibaut Courtois.
Cech recently held discussions with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and
manager Jose Mourinho in which he urged them to break policy and allow him
to join a top-four rival.
Former Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson thinks the Gunners’ move for Cech is an
"amazing possibility".
"You have to look at the impact a 'keeper like Cech has on those guys in
front of him," Wilson told Sky Sports News HQ.
"He has been there since 2004 and he is a Chelsea legend because of the
authority he has and the presence he gives.
"Arsenal are now in a very strong position. They have paid off the
(Emirates) stadium and have a very good squad with a really good group of
British players in there."
Cech signed from Rennes in 2004 before playing a major role in winning every
major club trophy with the Londoners
