Kane Recalled By Chelsea  (Sky Sports)

Chelsea midfielder Todd Kane has been recalled from his loan spell with Bristol City.

The 21-year-old had made seven appearances for the Robins since arriving in November but he has returned to Stamford Bridge almost two weeks early amid rumours linking him with a loan move to Nottingham Forest.

And Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill admitted his frustration at the news.

"Todd has been recalled by Chelsea and it has left a bit of a bad taste," he told the Bristol Evening Post.

"I would have liked the opportunity to keep him for a bit longer, but he is Chelsea's player and they can do whatever they want with him.

"I'll be looking for a suitable replacement, that's for sure, but I'll only bring someone in if I think they are good enough."
