Frank
Lampard admitted he enjoyed his "moment" with the Chelsea fans after his
return to Stamford Bridge with Manchester City.
Lampard's City side earned a 1-1 draw with the Premier League leaders during
a tight encounter, with the midfielder coming off the bench in the 77th
minute.
But having finished last season with Chelsea not knowing whether he was
going to leave the club, Lampard couldn't hide is delight after getting a
fine reception after the final whistle.
Lampard told Sky Sports: "I enjoyed it. I was delighted with the reception
from both sides, Man City fans have been brillaint for me up there.
"And Chelsea fans quite rightly get behind their team and showed complete
class at the end to give me an ovation. I'm pleased with that moment because
I didn't get that at the back end of last year.
"I can be very thankful for that."
Lampard believes Chelsea will be happier with the result, leaving the
Premier League leaders five points clear of City.
He said: "Chelsea are obviously the favourites for the title with five
points more at this stage. Chelsea will be happy with that, but I don't
think we can be too upset, there's too far to go.
"It's very cliche but there is, the games you least expect to be the
difficult ones can be."
