Mourinho has revealed Cesc Fabregas is likely to return in Chelsea’s home
game with Everton on Wednesday.
The midfielder has missed the last two matches with a hamstring problem
after limping off in the Capital One Cup semi-final second leg victory over
Liverpool.
Mourinho told the club’s website: "I think he plays on Wednesday because on
Saturday it was a decision to protect him.
"We didn't want to risk two players at the same time.
“We risked Willian and to start two players with a risk is a big gamble,"
added Mourinho in reference to the 2-1 victory over Aston Villa at the
weekend.
The Spaniard's expected return will present the manager with a dilemma
because Ramires has returned to form following a season plagued by injury.
Mourinho added he is pleased to have the Brazilian back in the squad.
"The best Ramires is back and the best Ramires played against Liverpool,
Manchester City and Aston Villa," he said.
"He is a different profile of player but a fantastic player for us."
