Will
Chelsea park the bus? How will PSG stop Eden Hazard? Steve Round and Alan
Curbishley talk tactics ahead of Tuesday's last-16 first-leg tie in Paris.
Chelsea lost 3-1 to PSG in a quarter-final first leg last season, but
progressed to the semis on away goals following a 2-0 second leg win at
Stamford Bridge.
The Blues face PSG this time around off the back of a free weekend after
last month’s FA Cup exit to Bradford.
So will they be fresher? And would Jose Mourinho settle for a draw? Alan
Curbishley and former Manchester United assistant boss Steve Round talked
tactics on Sky Sports News HQ's Morning View:
Chelsea prepared
"Chelsea had a free weekend, which gives them good preparation time," said
Round. "In the Champions League, you need preparation time. You need to get
your team tactically right. It will be a very tactical game tonight between
two top coaches and two very good teams with top class players on both
sides.
"The tactical difference between the coaches might be the fine margin that
decides this game."
Play for a draw?
"I think Mourinho is not scared to do a number when he has to," Curbishley
said. "I think he'll be working on his back five and his two holding
midfield players. He won't give a lot away tonight.
"He might try and park two buses because it’s such a big game. He's never
been afraid to go in and tactically get it right and upset the opposition by
setting his team up not to concede and it may be that he does that tonight
and makes it very difficult for PSG."
Paris Hazard
"They’ll certainly double up on him," Round said of Hazard, who spent the
development stage of his football career with fellow Ligue 1 side Lille.
"He’s a big threat. He’s been in fantastic form this season and he is
developing into a truly world class player.
"He could be one of the best there is. I know he has already had comparisons
with Lionel Messi and people like that. It’s too early for that but the way
he has been going this season he could really make the difference tonight."
