Remy will fill the void left by the suspended Diego Costa in Chelsea’s next
two Premier League games, says Nemanja Matic.
Costa was banned for three games for treading on Emre Can as Chelsea
advanced to the Capital One Cup final at Liverpool's expense midweek.
The first of the three matches was Saturday’s 1-1 draw with title rivals
Manchester City at Stamford Bridge, and Frenchman Remy, deputising for the
Spain international striker, scored Chelsea’s goal.
Costa will miss their forthcoming matches with Aston Villa and Everton, too,
and Blues midfielder Matic insists they will not miss their top scorer if
Remy plays the same way.
“Remy did a good job. He scored a goal and did exactly what the coach wanted
from him,” Matic told Chelsea TV.
"He gives us more confidence now for the next game. I'm very excited for the
next game, how he's going to play.
"Now people will see he's a very good player and he's going to be very
important for us."
