Arsenal,
Chelsea and Manchester City have booked their place in the Champions League
knockout phase and will find out who they face next in Monday's draw.
You can see the names pulled out of the hat live on Sky Sports News HQ from
11am on Monday - but, with UEFA rules stipulating no team can face
opposition from their own country or qualifying group, here's who the
Premier League teams could be up against...
Arsenal
Aaron Ramsey’s stunning strike in Istanbul helped Arsenal to a 4-1 win at
Galatasaray but Borussia Dortmund's 1-1 draw with Anderlecht meant the
Gunners, yet again, failed to secure top spot in their group and now face
being paired with one of Europe’s elite in the Round of 16.
Last season’s finalists – winners
Real Madrid and
runners-up
Atletico Madrid – could both be coupled with
Arsenal, while
Bayern Munich and
Barcelona
could also be in store for Arsene Wenger's men in February.
More favourable ties with Portuguese champions
Porto or
French big-spenders
Monaco are also possibilities, as the
north Londoners attempt to progress further than the quarter finals for the
first time since 2010.
Chelsea
Chelsea’s progression to the knockout phase was sealed before Matchday 6 but
the Premier League leaders could face a tough tie in the next round.
Italian champions
Juventus and Swiss title-holders
Basel, who progressed from Liverpool's group, could provide stern
tests for the Londoners, while a tie with the runners-up from Group F -
PSG - would provide their toughest task.
Bayer Leverkusen also lay in wait after their goalless draw
with Benfica on Matchday 6 booked their knockout-phase spot, while
Shakhtar could be drawn against the Blues, too.
Manchester City
The fact that City could be handed a tough tie in the last-16 will not
concern Manuel Pellegrini side who, after Wednesday’s heroics in Rome, snuck
their name into the hat for Monday’s draw.
As a consequence of finishing behind 2013 champions Bayern, the likes of
Real Madrid, neighbours
Atletico or
Barcelona could face the English champions.
Graeme Souness says he would fancy City against any of those sides over two
legs, and the majority would back City to overcome
Monaco,
stuttering
Dortmund or
Porto, should the
draw be a little kinder.
