Middlesbrough
have signed Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford on a season-long loan deal.
Bamford has trained with Boro this week and is expected to be in their
matchday squad for Saturday’s home game against Reading in the Championship.
The 20-year-old has had previous loan spells with Milton Keynes Dons and
Derby County and has England international appearances at three age levels
to his name.
“Everyone knows that Patrick is a very good player with a bright future in
the game,” said Boro boss Aitor Karanka.
"He scored a lot of goals during his previous loan spells and will be a good
addition to our squad.
"I first enquired about trying to bring Patrick to Middlesbrough last
December so I am delighted that everything has now been agreed.
"I’m looking forward to working with him."
Bamford joins Chelsea club mate Kenneth Omeruo, who is also on a season-long
loan, at the Riverside and is the club’s second season-long signing this
week, joining Tottenham youngster Ryan Fredericks.
